Antique 1888 wrestling figures toy SMS Eber German Sailor & Pacific Islander

An antique circa 1888 wrestling figures toy. I believe this represents a German sailor from the gunboat SMS Eber and a Pacific native from the island of Nauru. Composition bodies with wooden arms and legs. It does have some wear and signs of its age with the tip of one of the sailors feet chipped but overall in good condition - Please see photos Measures approx 8 inches tall x 6 1/2 inches across.
