This came from a storage bedroom form a woman they was born in 1896 and passed in 2000. We just cleared the home as it was untouched since 2000. Antique early 1900s German papier-mâché Roly Poly (also called "Rolly Dolly") figure depicting a dapper gentleman with a bow tie and tall top hat. The rounded weighted base allows it to wobble when nudged. Stands approximately 7.5 inches tall and features hand-painted details with rich color, rosy cheeks, and expressive eyes.
Displays charming age-related wear, crackling, and small surface losses consistent with its age. A rare and delightful survivor from circa 1910 Germany, ideal for collectors of antique papier-mâché, candy containers, or early toy figures.
