Size 60 mm aprox, watch photo provided. Made out of rubber these figures were made in Spain in the 1950's years, at the end of this decade moulds were retooled for making plastic ones following sanitary rules and economical reasons and never again were reissued in rubber, so these figures are rare and hard to find in such a high level of quality after 70 years, besides considering that were handpainted following Reamsa system of painting in a net of particular houses close to the factory in Barcelona city.
In these four pieces you can see the varied colour palette used to paint these figures being all original, it is remarkable that the paint is largely still present after being played with, as the rubber absorbs and retains the paint so strongly. Its design is inspired by other major European brands, but REAMSA, through the type of material, detailed sculpture, fine paint and color management, put its own stamp on those early years, which became so recognized later. Reamsa catalog figures: 114 and 115 marked in the base. Royal Tournament (Torneo Real), was launched from 1955, early version made out of rubber and later in the 60/70s of plastic, full series comprising 3 figures on horseback, two of them on jousting, and 9 on foot. In those years Reamsa was copying or taking inspiration from major european brands, in these cases similar to german Merten figures except the knight with a maze to Hausser Elastolin composition figure, and the horse to a french Lido one.
