" Vintage Lithographed Hill's ALPHIES Alphabet & Figure Wooden Blocks " This is a complete set of the 19th Century Hill's Alphabet & Figures which were printed in oil colors. Schoenhut was an American toy company based in Philadelphia which began production in 1872. The Alphies were first patented in 1916 and are 5 tall wooden blocks with lithographed paper and characters on both sides. One side depicts " Alphie Dollies" and the other side depicts " Alphie Zoo " animals.

Each character on either side bears a letter of the alphabet. The Alphies were intended as multi-purpose playthings to practice the alphabet, spelling, stacking and bowling. This set includes the original 13 blocks and original blue wooden tray. This dispute will be closed within 4 days after being opened and the item will be re-listed.
